On launch, it was available as a three-door hatchback as well as a four-door sedan/hatchback with internal competition from Vauxhall/Opel’s Astra and Nissan’s Micra. Since 2012, the name has been applied to a revived model (fourth generation), with its designations in Ford Europe reflecting its class status: S for saloon (sedan), ST for hatchback and RS for estate.
