A Family Day That Reflects Who We Are as a Business

If you asked us what makes Lindleys different, we’d probably talk about our people before anything else.

Every MOT carried out, every vehicle repaired, every tyre fitted and every customer looked after is only possible because of the incredible team behind the scenes. That’s why, once a year, we put the tools down, step away from the workshops and offices, and bring everyone together with the people who support them most – their families.

Our annual Lindleys Family Day isn’t just a summer event. It’s a celebration of the people who make our business what it is.

Bringing Everyone Together

This year’s Family Day was held at Carlton Town Football Club, a club we’re proud to sponsor. As well as providing a fantastic venue for everyone to enjoy, hosting the event there also helped support the club through food, drink and event takings – something we’re always pleased to do as part of our commitment to supporting local organisations.

The day is open to every member of the Lindleys team and their families. Whether you’re a technician, MOT tester, tyre fitter, service advisor, apprentice, part of our support team or management, it’s one of the few occasions each year where everyone can relax together away from the day-to-day demands of the business.

It’s also a chance for partners, children and families to meet the people they hear so much about throughout the year.

Fun for Everyone

From the moment the gates opened, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Children spent the afternoon making the most of the bouncy castles, inflatable football games and face painting, while the ice cream van proved to be just as popular with the adults. Throughout the day there was plenty of great food, cold drinks, live music from a fantastic local band and a DJ keeping the atmosphere going well into the evening.

One of the biggest highlights was the introduction of the very first Lindleys Cup, with teams from across the business competing in a friendly but fiercely competitive 7-a-side football tournament. There were plenty of laughs, a few questionable refereeing decisions and, of course, some serious bragging rights up for grabs.

As the evening arrived, everyone gathered to watch England’s World Cup quarter-final against Norway. Thankfully, England didn’t disappoint, rounding off a fantastic day with a memorable victory that gave everyone one more reason to celebrate together.

A Little Friendly Revenge… for Charity

No Lindleys Family Day would be complete without a bit of friendly mischief.

This year’s charity stocks quickly became one of the day’s biggest attractions. For just £1, colleagues could nominate someone to take their place in the stocks before a bucket of water was tipped over their head.

It raised money for charity, created plenty of laughs and, judging by some of the reactions, gave a few people the perfect opportunity to settle some light-hearted workplace scores!

It’s moments like these that remind us that enjoying work isn’t just about what happens during the working day – it’s about building friendships and memories together too.

More Than Just a Family Day

While the entertainment, football, music and activities make the event special, they’re not really what the day is about.

It’s about recognising the people who make Lindleys what it is.

It’s about thanking the technicians who arrive early each morning, the customer service teams who keep everything running smoothly, the apprentices learning their trade, the tyre fitters working in all weathers, the managers supporting every branch and everyone else who contributes to the business throughout the year.

It’s also about recognising the families behind them. The partners, children and loved ones who support early starts, late finishes, weekend shifts and everything else that comes with working in the motor trade.

We believe people do their best work when they feel valued. Our annual Family Day is one small way of showing our appreciation for everything our team does, both inside and outside of work.

Looking Ahead

As Lindleys continues to grow, one thing will always remain the same – our belief that a great business is built by great people.
