Churchill Van Tyres: The CSB007 and How to Read Van Tyre Sizes
Van tyres work harder than car tyres: heavier loads, more stop-start miles and plenty of kerbs. As an official Churchill supplier, the van tyre we are most excited about is the Churchill CSB007: a B for wet grip on a value tyre is a genuinely impressive result, and it keeps working vans moving for less.
In short: The Churchill CSB007 van tyre grades C for fuel efficiency and B for wet grip, at 70dB, in 215/65R15C. The C in the size means it is built for commercial loads. Always match the load index and speed rating your van needs.

The CSB007 Label
In 215/65R15C, the CSB007 is graded C for fuel efficiency, B for wet grip and 70dB for external noise. A wet grip B is an excellent grade for a value van tyre, and for a vehicle that is often loaded, braking in the wet is the grade that matters most. Grades are set per size, so check the label for yours.
Reading a Van Tyre Size
Take the full marking: 215/65R15C 104/102T 6PR.
- 215/65R15: 215mm wide, sidewall height 65% of the width, radial, for a 15 inch wheel.
- C: commercial construction, made to carry van loads at higher pressures.
- 104/102: the load index. 104 means 900kg per tyre on a single wheel, 102 means 850kg per tyre where wheels are twinned.
- T: the speed rating, 118mph.
- 6PR: ply rating, a measure of the casing’s strength.
Never fit a tyre with a lower load index or speed rating than your van needs. The right figures are in the handbook or on the plate inside the door frame.
Caravans and Trailers
Many caravans and trailers also run on commercial C-marked tyres, but sizes and load ratings vary a lot, so check your handbook or ask us before you order. Our caravan tyre safety advice covers age, pressures and storage, and we can fit caravan tyres where it is parked.
Keeping Vans on the Road
For a working van, the cost of a tyre is often less than the cost of the van being off the road. Our mobile tyre fitting team can fit at your yard or workplace, and you can see Churchill sizes for your registration on our Churchill tyres page.
Churchill discount codes: use 15OFFCHURCH for £15 off two Churchill tyres, or 40OFFCHURCH for £40 off four, when you book online.

Frequently asked questions
Are Churchill van tyres any good?
Yes. The Churchill CSB007 grades B for wet grip and C for fuel efficiency in 215/65R15C, at 70dB: strong grades for a value van tyre.
What does the C mean on a van tyre?
It stands for commercial. A C-marked tyre is built to carry the heavier loads of a van, with a stronger casing and higher pressures than a car tyre of the same size.
What are the two numbers in a van tyre load index?
The first is the load per tyre on a single wheel, the second is the load per tyre where wheels are fitted in pairs. For 104/102, that is 900kg and 850kg.
Can I fit car tyres to my van?
Only if they meet the load index and speed rating your van requires, which car tyres usually do not. Most vans need C-marked commercial tyres.
